Weather: Of course the beach is great but what about the hurricanes that come along with it? Think about how the weather patterns in your desired area are going to affect things like the structure of the house and your homeowner’s insurance rates.
Rentability: Do some research to find out what the average rental percentage for homes similar to yours in your desired area. You’ll know if houses are only rented out 40 of the time to budget that number into your total housing costs.
Size: Sure the house is big enough for you and your child but what about the large families you’re going to want to target to rent? If you don’t have enough bedrooms and bathrooms you’re doomed from the start so consider size immediately.
